SUNDAY SCHOOL REPORT
ML REPORT.

The Bible Discovery Club was offered early in 1988 in an effort to restart the
9330 Sunday School Program for senior students. Parents were encouraged to attend
as well in the Bible Study; and, nursery care was provided. Attendance started
well, but had dropped dramatically by the end of the unit.

Our annual Congregational Picnic had average attendance. The weather was
Qlorious, and a good time was had by all. We would like to thank the Sunday School
teachers and all others who helped in any way to make this day possible.

The children have enjoyed the use of the VCR over the past year. It especially
added to the summer where classes are Combined together into one group.

The Board of Congregational Life of The Presbyterian Church of Canada approved
and recommended the use of either of two new Sunday School Curriculums. Session
approved the introduction of the curriculum "Discovery" and it began use in our
Sunday School classes last September. It is indeed a great achievement to have not
one but two recommended Curriculums within Canada. Those responsible for it being
available need our heartfelt thanks and appreciation as we Support their goals in
Clarifying and strengthening The Presbyterian Church in Canada.

In late October Bible Study Groups began being offered from the new curriculum
materials at 11:00, for youth in Grades. 7 to 9 (ages 12 - 15); and Grades 10 to 13
(ages 15 - 18 -), Those attending are benefitting; and have expressed with. positive
comments both inside and outside the church an Opportunity to discuss their religion -
at an understandable level.

Sunday School children and their Parents, as well as C.0.C., Explorers and
C.G.I.T. members and their families were invited to a Childrens! Christmas Party.

All in attendance enjoyed a roast beef dinner, carol Singing, and a visit from Santa
Claus, who gave the children bags of Candies. We would like to thank the P.W.A.,
Reverand Wilson and his family, as well as all others who Supported this event.

The congregation was blessed with a series of readings and lighting of the
candles during Advent. All youth who took part under the assistance of Dorothy
Cooper are thanked for doing such a good job.

All of the above-mentioned Programs are very rewarding for both the children and
the adults who help. One does not need to have teaching experience to teach in the
Sunday School. We urge you to consider the Opportunity, even as a relief teacher, or
for one month of the year. Assistance and guidance is available from either Velma
Smith or Susan Luxon,

Parents are asked to Consider a commitment to making regular attendance at
Sunday School possible for their children,

I would urge all members of the congregation to lend their Support to the
Sunday School Program by including both the children and their teachers in their
Prayers.
