KIRK SESSION REPORT :
Once again there is much For which we must be thankful as we review
the events of the past year.
On behalf of the congregation, we extend our appreciation to all of
those individuals and groups who have contributed so much of their time
and effort in order that we all might receive the benefits.
In 1986 our congregation accepted a figure of $16,000.00 as our
contribution to the General Assembly Budget. By the end of the year, we
had remitted $16,000.00 to the Presbyterian Church in Canada, Toronto.
This amount was made up of $15,934.55 contributed by the congregation and
$65.45 from the Session fund. Session commends you for your efforts and
encourages you to accept and surpass an allocation of $16,000.00 for
1987. The Presbytery suggestion is approximately $13,000.00.
Early in the year, Session completed an updating of the Roll. After a
great deal of work and much soul searching a number of persons were
removed from the Roll.
As a result of a vote by all members of the congregation, six persons
were elected to the eldership. Mr. Ray Luxon, Mr. Elgin Jury, Mr. Fitz
Bharath, Mr. Norman Harrison, Mrs. Dorothy Cooper and Mr. Douglas Nodwell
are the new members of Session. 2
