; THE CRESCENT CIRCLE - 1977 - -
The Crescent Circle held eight meetings during the year with am
average.attendance of sixteen members. In June we went out for dinner
to Pickwick's and in December we held our annual’ Pot Luck Supper. At
each meeting we held a Worship Service as well as a business meeting.
During the year, we toured the Guelph Museum, attended a fashion show
at Knox Church and a dessert party at St. Andrewts, and had an interes-
ting demonstration in loom weaving.
During the year, we assisted at the Hyde Park Nursing Home social
evenings, the birthday party at the Elliott in February, donated baking
to the Pastoral Visitation Tea, donated Christmas gifts to the Palmer-
ie ston Town Manor Nursing Home and we contributed recipes to the City
eS Centennial Cook Book.
To raise money, we had a Bring and Buy Sale, a quilt sale, a rummage
sale and catered to an anniversary dinner and made sandwiches. We assis—
ted the P.W.A. with the table at the Willow West Mall and the bake sale
in May. We convened the Heritage Bazaar. We forwarded all the Circle
funds to the P.W.A.-which in. turn forwarded it to the Board of Managers
to help meet the mortgage.
ényone wishing to join the Crescent Circle is most. welcome. Please
phone Betty Iarter at 821-209 or Deirdre Renaud at 821-3096.. We meet
the second Wednesday of each month in one of our member's homes.
